Stylist / Senior Stylist

A vacancy has become available for a stylist who wants to work as part of a great team at an independent salon with a reputation for excellence.

We are looking to recruit a creative and passionate stylist who wants to work to the highest professional standards. As an established salon with a continually growing reputation and customer base you will have the opportunity to quickly build a client base and benefit from our generous payment plan. This position would suit a highly motivated stylist who wants to be a member of a friendly team and have the opportunity to develop their career as the business grows.

Qualifications
Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing or equivalent

Technical Skills
We are seeking a stylist with experience and the highest standard of skills with the following techniques:

* Styling and cutting
* All aspects of colouring including correction
* Hair up styles (preferred but not essential)

Personal Skills
* Excellent customer service skills
* Strong communication skills
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Good organisational skills
* Good product knowledge and retail skills
* Good time management skills

Apprentice Hairdresser

We are continuing to grow our team and a vacancy is available for an apprentice hairdresser who wants to work as part of a great team at an independent salon with a reputation for excellence.

We are looking to recruit a creative and passionate individual who learns quickly and has a strong desire to work to the highest professional standards. As an established salon with a continually growing reputation and client base you will be working in a busy and demanding environment. You will have the opportunity to work along side a team of very experienced stylist who will support your training and development.

No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided. You will be trained initially to NVQ Level 2 whilst receiving your apprentice salary.

The position would suit a highly motivated individual who wants to be a member of a small friendly team and have the opportunity to develop their skills to a level of an excellent junior stylist.

Technical skills
The following technical skills will be developed during the apprenticeship both at collage and during the in-salon training sessions:

* Reception duties
* How to preform consultations
* Shampoo and conditioning techniques
* Fundamentals of colouring
* Hair care product knowledge

Personal Skills
You will be required to demonstrate the following skills:

* Good customer service skills
* Strong communication skills
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Good organisational skills
* Punctual ANd well presented
* Enthusiastic and eager to learn
* Self motivated and pro-active
* Good team worker
* Be able to take direction and respond to authority
* Good time management

Key Responsibilities
As your training and experience progresses you will be given the following responsibilities:

* Greeting clients as they arrive in the salon
* Assisting with running reception area and processing transactions
* Will develop shampoo and conditioning techniques
* Will develop a detailed knowledge of retail product ranges offered
* Will develop skills in taking phone calls and booking appointments
* Will develop a full knowledge of the services and prices offered
* Maintain retail display areas
* Running of laundry and keeping salon and staff area clean and tidy
